Teen Pageant
***There will
be no Miss Capital City Outstanding Teen pageant this year. The Miss Capital
City Board is pleased to announce that Colby Dee Coskery has been appointed
as Miss Capital City's Outstanding Teen 2009. Colby Dee will be crowned
by Julianne Giles, Miss Capital City's Outstanding Teen 2008, at the 2009
Miss Capital City pageant on November 22***

Teen Pageant

- Age/Education Eligibility
To be eligible to compete in Miss Capital City's Outstanding Teen Pageant
(“MCCOT”),
- Contestants must be at
least 13 years of age on the first day of the 2009 local
competition.
- Can be no older than 17
years of age as of Aug. 31, 2009.
- Must not be eligible to
compete on the miss level in the Miss America
Program at any point during the current pageant year.
To be eligible to compete in Miss Capital City’s
Outstanding Teen Pageant (“MCCOT”), the contestant must comply
with the following Residency Requirements:
- Must reside in or be enrolled in, and attending classes on a full-time
basis in an accredited school or home-schooling program;
- Must be a resident of Georgia for a minimum of six (6) months prior
to her Local Competition;
- Must have completed one full semester as a full-time student, if
contestant is competing in a state due to her status as a student
in that state.
- Areas of Competition Categories and Scoring Percentages
- Talent – 35%
- Private Interview – 35%
- Evening Wear – 15%
- Physical Fitness – 10%
- On-Stage Question – 5%
- Guidelines for Areas of Competition
- Talent
- Talent presentations must be a maximum of 2 minutes (2:00) in
length
- Only the contestant will be permitted on stage during her talent
presentation. No other person can be part of her presentation.
- Talent presentations must be performed live
- Talent routines that are prohibited include: the use of fire,
fireworks, swords, knives, or machetes; bow and arrow acts; live
animals; taking off of clothing layers.
- Contestants will wear a dress, business suit, pantsuit or other attire
suitable for a job interview.
- The interview will be “panel-style” with the questions
asked in “press conference style” by the judges. The judge
asking the first question is determined before the interview begins
and, after that question, there is no pre-determined order of questions.
Any judge may ask a question at any time.
- There is no opening or closing statement
- The total amount of time for interview will be six (6) minutes
- Contestants select evening gown, cocktail-type pantsuit, or other
evening wear attire suitable to the individual contestant.
- Contestants will wear an outfit that expresses their physical activity.
For example, a dancer could wear a dance outfit, a cheerleader could
wear her cheerleading outfit, etc.
- On-Stage Question
- Contestants will be asked one question.

TICKETS: Tickets are $10
(no advance sales); cash only please. Current MAO Teen and Miss titleholders
will be permitted to attend free of charge and will be recognized; however,
we would like to know in advance that you are planning to attend. Please

BECOMING A CONTESTANT: The
deadline for competition registration is October 17, 2008. The following
items must be RECEIVED by October 17, so please allow
sufficient time if mailing. The forms must be typed and you must use the
the required forms.

ORIENTATION AND REHEARSAL: The
mandatory orientation and full dress rehearsal for the pageant will be
held on Friday, November 21, 2008 beginning promptly at 4:00pm at Cecil
B. Day Hall on the Atlanta campus of Mercer University. If you cannot
be there promptly at 4:00, please call Amy Haney at 770-490-8507 as soon
as possible.
The Miss Capital City Board looks forward
