**Miss Capital City is an OPEN pageant**

Eligibility for Competition:

One must be:

  • a single female between the ages of 17-24
  • a high school graduate before July 30, 2009
  • not less than 17 years of age on the date of the local pageant nor more than 24 years of age before December 31, 2009
  • a permanent resident for at least six months, or a full-time student for at least one semester, or a full-time employee for at least six months in the State of Georgia

The deadline for competition registration is October 17, 2008. The following items must be RECEIVED by October 17, so please allow sufficient time if mailing. The forms must be typed and you must use the required forms.

Please Note that there is a National Platform for Miss America: The Children’s Miracle Network. All contestants competing in a local preliminary are required to complete the Service Requirement of raising $100 for the CMN. This is a tax deductible donation. 40% goes to the Children’s Miracle Network, 30% to the Miss America Scholarship Fund and 30% to the local pageant. Contestants are not required to handle any money. All fundraising must be done via internet and email. Please visit the official website at www.missamerica4kids.org. Here you can register and get answers to frequently answered questions. This is a new requirement from Miss America this year. Please call or e-mail us if you have ANY questions.
In order to compete in the Miss Capital City pageant you must complete your requirement by November 7, 2008. We will check the missamerica4kids website to ensure your compliance and no contestant will be allowed to compete unless she has fulfilled this requirement.

  9. Music CD (no tapes, CDs only please; music cannot exceed 2 minutes in time - Note that for Miss GA 2009, talent time may not exceed 90 seconds. For Miss Capital City and other locals this year only, you have the option of 90 seconds or 2 minutes. The judges will be informed of this option.)
  10. Proof of Residency (driver's license or school transcript, etc.)
  11. Birth Certificate

Orientation and Rehearsal 

The mandatory orientation and full dress rehearsal for the pageant will be held on Friday, November 21, 2008 beginning promptly at 5:00 p.m. at Cecil B. Day Hall on the Atlanta campus of Mercer University. Click here for directions. A light meal will be provided for contestants.
